Is Poppy really like Hairy Maclary ?

What do you think ?

I think they are very alike

We have had our beautiful puppy Poppy since May 2014 ,
a few times when we have been in parks or Hampstead Heath
we have had people stop us to say
"your dog is Hairy Maclary have you seen the books ? "
No we had never heard or seen these books ,
but whenever we Was told this I had got the name wrong ,
I tried goggling Mary Mcscary, Hairy Mcfairy,
I never found anything on my searches.
,Then Yesterday I had dropped Jack off at football training then
went for a walk around Primrose Hill,
I was waiting for my son Terry so sat on a bench for a rest
Poppy was off chasing other dogs as she does ,
Then a lovely couple come up to me and asked what type
of dog is she, so I explained a Bichon & German Spitz mix
Then the Gentleman say's
" have you seen the book Hairy Mclary From Donaldson's Dairy ,
your dog is the image of the dog in the book ?
she is beautiful and very unique "
I explained no I hadn't seen it but have been stopped and told
this on a number of occasions but was unable to find anything,
so the lady wrote the name down for me saying you
must go and look it up your be surprised.
So I did and I was !!

There really is an uncanny resemblance
between them Hairy Maclary looks like he has all
of  Poppy's cheekiness and mischievous character

So now I am looking forward to buying some of the book's
and reading them to my Grandchildren,
I'm so pleased to have finally found them so next time
I get stopped and asked I can say yes I have
xx

Our T-Shirt Design Kit Review

Last week I was lucky enough to get two white t-shirt design kits sent to me from
for my two grandsons Jack and Max , as it was a cold miserable day yesterday after Jacks football training I got the kits out to show the boys , you are able to choose your own design so if you have a favorite character you can get them , knowing the boys love Batman and Wrestling that's what I went for, you get really good quality Fruit of the Loom t-shirts , they have dozens of colours to choose Max had the Batman transfer Jack the Wrestling
I'm pleased to say they was very happy with my choices !

The first step is to iron on the transfer by turning it upside down on to the t-shirt
placing the transfer where you would like it to go ,
once ironed on leave it to cool down then carefully peel of the backing ,
revealing the transfer on the t-shirt ,it was very easy to do,
obviously you would let your children play with a hot iron
so this bit you will need to do for them ,

Then you just let them  design and draw on them and let their imagination
take over and do what they like
you get a good packet of fabric markers in the kit
that has a good selection of colours
I have to say the boys really enjoyed making their own t-shirts
and adding their own personal touch on them

They spent at least an hour each on their design
they knew what they wanted and where they wanted it to go ,
they was both really happy with the finished product
they both want to wear them to school tomorrow and show their friends .
I think these are great idea , you can get them to just do
on an afternoon at home  to pass some time .
They would also make a good present .
I think these would be a great idea for a kid's party
instead of party bags get each child a T-Shirt Design Kit
and get them to do them as part of the party activities
I think that would go down really well with
all the kids and make it a party to remember !

These are their finished t-shirts
so don't forget to pop over to
and take a look at their huge range of t-shirts

Billy + Margot Nutritious Treats For Dogs Review

BILLY + MARGOT
Have an impressive range of nutritious
healthy and delicious treats and food for dogs
you can visit their web site here

As my followers will know I have my lovely puppy Poppy,
so we was delighted to receive some of their Nutritious Treats
for Poppy to taste and me to review

To start with the packaging was really nice and well done
so as a first impression I have to say I was very impressed ,
I was sent some Popcorn for dogs and some fish skin cubes.

POPCORN FOR DOGS
My first thought was popcorn for dogs , wow what a fab idea
a treat we like to eat and enjoy ourselves but for dog's
how fab its that

Their popcorn is 100% air-popped corn which makes it a healthy alternative
treat for dogs, where as the popcorn we would eat would be popped in oil
by air popping the corn it makes it much lower in fat and calories
it also gives it a longer shelf life, as you would only give your dog a few a day
as a treat and not big handfuls as we would eat
so once the bag is opened it will last much longer then the popcorn we would
normally have in the home.
As popcorn contains fibre and is 100% whole grain it is also gluten free
so you can be happy and confident the treat you are giving your dog is
a good healthy treat

I have to say Poppy seemed to love the Popcorn and really enjoyed it
when we was going to the park and out for walks I would take a
few in my pocket to encourage her to behave ,
as she can be quite a handful on her lead she tends to bark lots !!
she soon learnt that if I said good girl after she had done well
I would put my hand in my pocket and give her
a small bit of Popcorn
after a couple of days when I wanted her back on the lead
or to come back to me I would shout out
Poppy come on good girl
and she would run straight back sit by my feet and look
at my pocket waiting for her Popcorn ,
so I think I can confidently say the Popcorn
was a sound hit with Poppy ,
I have been using it for nearly 2 weeks now
and still have quite a lot left ,
so for a good size bag for just £1.99 it is not just
a healthy alternative treat for your dog it is also
excellent value for money and we will
definitely be purchasing some more
you can buy Popcorn for dogs here

FISH SKIN CUBES

BILLY + MARGOT do a nice range of fish based treats
we received the Fish Skin Cubes
they are made using 100% whitefish skin
and nothing else that's all
its a low calorie healthy treat
an added benefit is the texture
they have a very rough texture which
helps to remove tartar from their teeth ,
which I think is great !
As they are low in calories it makes them a
great treat if your dog is over weight
but you still want to give them a good
tasty treat now and again then I think
these would be ideal I think the price of
£3.25 is very reasonable

At first Poppy wasn't too sure about these
she was slightly wary due to the smell and texture
as you can really smell the fish it is rather strong
and they are very rough to touch
To start with she was pushing it about with her nose
then hitting out at it with her paws
then jumping backwards staring at it
as if she was expecting something to happen ,
it was really quite funny watching her ,
but then she started crunching her way through
them yes they are very crunchy !
she really did seem to enjoy them once used to them
we have been giving her one or two a day
for nearly two weeks now .
As Poppy has quite a long coat that gets matted
and knotted very quick and easily
I have to groom her every night
brushing her hair for around 20-30 minutes
I have definitely noticed a much
silkier softness to her coat the past week
I do think this has something
to do with the FISH SKIN CUBES
I must also say for a little while after eating them
she really does have fishy smelling breath
But it soon goes away
But overall I have been happy to give Poppy
these two products as a treat
Poppy has really enjoyed reviewing them with me

will I be buy from them again ?
Yes I will ,
I have already placed an order for some more treats
as it is Poppy's birthday in 10 days
we are getting her some nice treats
in the summer I intend to give their iced treats a go
you can read about them HERE

As I said they do a large range of  food and treats
and myself and Poppy are very happy to recommend
them to you for you and your beloved dogs
as they say themselves
WE ONLY PRODUCE FOOD AND TREATS WE ARE HAPPY TO FEED OUR OWN DOGS

Dr Toxic's Slime Lab

My grandson Jack got this for Christmas
so thought it about time we got it out and had a go ,
firstly  we prepared a space on the table and emptied the contents of the box
there was quite a lot of bits so i did wonder what have i let myself in for to start with ,
luckily the instructions was very clear everything was labeled numbered and pictured
so it was easily to identify everything and see what it looked like

Jack really go into it the part putting on the goggles he says
"call me the mad scientist "
so to begin with we built the lab
filled the pool with water then started adding all the ingredients ,
1/2 a scoop of worm setting powder , stirred till it was dissolved,
then the worm goo followed by some colored powder

Then all he had to do was keep turning the worm pool and squeeze the worm goo dispenser to release the goo into the water ,spin the pool a little more then after a few seconds remove the goo you have made with the tweezers supplied ,

I have to say after the first attempt it did get easier
Jack wasn't very impressed with his first piece of goo he pulled out of the pool
as it was just a tiny little thing ,
but he done it again which resulted in a long dangly piece of goo
"that's more like it he said"
by this time Max had got involved and sat watching everything jack was doing

Max was loving the goggles and once on he wouldn't take them off
if there was ever a mad scientist it was him !

They did manage to get quite a lot of goo made and filled a little tub of it ,
they also had good fun making it ,
Max happily played with the goo afterwards where as by this time Jack
had made the goo got bored and moved onto something else
It was good it passed a couple of hours
doing something fun different and creative
Jack being 9 did get a bit bored after a while
 but Max stayed with it
tho he is only 4 and it is for 8+
I feel it is something that will get opened and used then put away in
the box and forgotten about as once you have done it you'v done it !
I don't think it is something they will want to do very often

But over all I think they quite enjoyed being scientist's while it lasted

Dettol Baby Blanket Donation

I thought this is such a great campaign i just had to take part
get behind it and share it with you
Rachel Stevens is working along side Dettol
on this new worthy campaign

Dettol Baby Blanket Donation

The appeal aims to raise awareness of the dangers of bacteria
on baby blankets ,
particularly during the cold and flu season
Dettol is workig along side SPARKS
a children s charity and calling out to mums across the UK
to "keep the memories not the bacteria"
whilst at the same time highlighting the shortage of
baby blankets available to baby's born to
families in need  .

The Dettol Baby Blanket Donation
is appealing to as many mums as possible to donate
baby blankets they have but no longer need,
also for every blanket collected , £1
will be donated by Dettol to Sparks
to help improve children's health in the UK

Leading the campaign  Rachel has said
"Many babies across the world will never get the chance to
experience the comfort of a warm, clean blanket .
That's the reason why I'm supporting this campaign,"

Once collected Dettol will then clean the blankets in
Dettol Anti-Bacterial Laundry Cleanser
This Cleanser kills 99.9% of bacteria
even on very low temperatures
before being distributed to family's in need

I'm sure we all have the odd blanket laying around
or in the back of the cupboard somewhere,
I know I have and shall be digging
them out and sending them off,
you can send them freepost so it wont cost you
a penny to get involved,
so why not get behind this fab campaign get donating
to help a baby who needs a warm clean blanket
you can find lots more information
