Poppy's Favorite Walks

                                                               PRIMROSE HILL

This morning  a very chilly December  one at that , me and poppy went on one of her favorite walks
over Primrose Hill , i think myself very lucky to live so close to such a lovely place ,and we walk over there every day , it has lovely open spaces and has stunning views of the London sky line
Poppy loves running around over there and she always finds a friend to run around with everybody is very friendly and theres always someone stopping me saying how lovely poppy is and asking what breed she is ,

   HAMPSTEAD HEATH

Our second favorite walk  we go at least 3 times a week , it is massive and you can walk for hours
without crossing the same path , which we often do , there are lots of ponds on the heath so we save all our leftover  bread and cake's and take a bag and feed the ducks and swans our favorite pond is  the Vale of  Health  its just beautiful and we love walking around it or just sitting on one of the many benches watching the world go by , again im very lucky to be so close to such a lovely open space ,and we walk around here in all weather even when there is snow on the ground, it adds to the beauty of the place

A Lovely Christmas 2014

Well after all the build up the shopping rushing around days of wrapping preparing and organizing it has all come and gone way to quickly , but what a lovely time we had , this year Christmas was at mine , my son and his family along with  my daughter in laws family plus y daughters boyfriend , so it was a big family affair ,
with not having little ones here on Christmas morning i was up and preparing waiting for everyone to emerge which they did around 10.30 , which i must say is the latest i can remember ever
commence present opening turning the front room into a massive mess of paper and boxes

i think its easy to say everyone was        happy with what they got

I got spoilt this year and received some lovely gifts that i was more then happy with , getting some perfume and a handbag i had wanted for a long time

i also got one of my favorite Yankee candles and a beautiful Yankee hurricane yankee holder
and some books i can not wait to get to read

then it was time to get back in the kitchen and finish cooking a massive lunch for lots of lovely people
but before lunch my sin and family turn up and we start all over again with their presents so it present opening round 2 , and the boys loved what they got and the smiles on their face's made it all worth while

and we didn't forget Poppy as it was her first Christmas she also got spoilt rotten and had a fab time playing in all the paper and i expect wondering what was going on around her

Then it was time for dinner a full turkey Christmas dinner with all the trimmings that went down a treat with plenty of helpings some lovely cheese cakes and trifle for dessert  and lots of  fun and laughs  around the table ,so i have to say we all had a lovely Christmas day and hope you all did to

A Night On The Ice

So last night we went ice skating at the Natural History Museum , me my husband sister son my grandson's my nephew and neighbors son,
and yes we wore our antlers all night !
It was the first time i had been in over 10 years and it was a first time for some of the boys
The rink its self is stunning looking very festive with all the lights and Christmas music you get a lovely Christmas feeling while skating around , or should that be in some of the cases trying to skate around , the only down side i would say was the amount of people in a session it was so packed there was not much room in falling over without dragging some poor stranger down with you , as my sister found out !
I was surprised at how quick i picked it up being able to skate unaided and not fall down although i was wobbly felt great ,
the boys loved it i think they enjoyed the falling over and the laughs as much as the skating ,as i think they spent more time on their bums then on there feet ,there was a little rink just off on the side that they was able to go into at first to practice which was a really good idea

,

i hired a penguin for max that was a great helped and he loved it and
although it was an extra £5 it is well worth the money if you have a little one ,and lets them go off on his own he was so proud of himself

you get 50 minutes on the ice which dosent sound long but by the time your times we was ready to stop , a couple had already gotten off by then , but over all we had a really great time i haven't laughed so much in a long time , there's something about seeing someone thinking they can skate , like my sister then falling to their knees as she did
AND SHE'S OFF
AND SHES DOWN

we will certainly be going again next year but will go earlier in the season when it is not as busy ,

Meet The Grandchildren

I feel very lucky to have two adorable grandson's who i love with all my heart and see as often as possible , im also lucky that they only live 5 minutes down the road meaning they can just pop in when ever they are passing on the way home from school or when out shopping so am able to see them loads , I'm also very proud to say i have a granddaughter due in May and am very excited about this and can not wait to meet her with having the two boys it will be great to finally be able to buys dolls prams frilly dresses and ribbons ,
We do as much as we can with the boys and go on lots of days out and take them on holiday when ever we can , we do lots of camping in the New Forest which we all love, the boys love the freedom the horses ponies and the whole camping experience and we try to go as often as we can during any school holiday also  this year we spent a week in a caravan in Clacton on Sea, had 3 nights in a yurt in the countryside and an over night break to Birmingham to visit cadburys world , i can not wait to take them on their first holiday abroad and take them on a plane but at the moment there's no plans to do that just yet.

                                                             Jack 8 Years old
Jack a lovely boy and can be very serious at times  but loves a good joke and when he finds one that makes him laugh he will tell you it over and over , he is a keen footballer and a very good player , he does football training on Primrose Hill every Saturday Morning which he loves ,last week he got his first medal and told me he wants a medal shelf to put all his medals and trophy's he plans on winning ,so we may just have an England player in the making , Jack follows his grandad and uncle and is a big Chelsea FC  supporter much to his dads dismay as he is an avid Arsenal supporter but Jack is  true blue !

Jack loves his computers and gaming and if he could he would spend all his time playing Fifa or WWF, football and wrestling his two big loves in life ! his very lucky to have a ps3 and a will his dad has he ps4 so he gets on that as often as he can, and for Christmas he desperately wants an xbox1
Jacks Birthday falls on boxing day so we try the best we can to separate the two days as im always afraid his birthday is so over shadowed by christmas it can get overlooked , so we do a birthday party at my house every year with a few friends and cousins and give him a special day .Jack has always stayed with us at weekends and holidays since he was a baby and i hope as he gets older he will still want to be with us oldies !

                                                          Max 4 Years old
Max is the joker of the two and loves a laugh playing jokes and making rude noises and quite often when he thinks he can get away with it the odd rude word which will have him falling about laughing. He really is a very funny happy little boy , His just started at full time nursery and his thriving and he loves it ,his always telling me story's about his friends and what they get up to , and if he could go in at the weekends im sure he would be happy to do so , He isn't into computers and games he loves his Lego and Batman everything at the moment has to be Lego Batman and for Christmas he wants the Lego batman house ,any thing that captures his imagination he will quite happily sit and play and make and invent things he also loves books and will sit cuddled up while i read to him , i recently brought him a book called Father Christmas Needs a Wee , which mad him laugh so much i think we read it 5 times the first night i got it out .Max is very different to Jack when it comes to staying over he never wanted to always wanted to be home with his mum , but now as his getting older and a bit more independent he wants to stay more and more often ringing me up and saying can i stay at your house so i can see him staying a lot more often in the future ,which is fine by us.

Another thing max loves is dressing up  he has a number of costumes and he really gets into the role if his Captain America, Batman or The Hulk which is great fun he has a fab imagination and will play for hours , Max also has a thing for Ladybirds and snails in the garden in the summer he made little house with holes in filled them with leaves and collected snails in them , bless him he was very upset when he found them gone 2 days later !

A Head above the rest

A little while back there was a fantastic competition on Facebook on the funny how flowers do that page , you had to tell them what your favorite flower was in the chance of winning a 3D vase of you , your face yes you , a strange one yes i agree but gave it a go , some time after i received a message to say i was one of the winners YAY  !
and could i go along to their offices and have a 3D scan of my head done ,
so of course i said yes that would be wonderful ,
So later that week i went along taking my husband for support as i was totally unsure of what was going to happen , but we arrived had a lovely girl meet us from Cow PR and take us up in the office for the Scan , and to my surprise it was very straight forward and took no more then 10 minutes , i had to sit very still on a chair and smile , while a young man from ABC Imaging uk walked around me in circles with a scanner in his hand scanning my head ,
That was it off we went home to wait to be contacted with the finished result , we spent a few weeks talking about it wondering what it would be like would it really look like me would i like and so on , then i got the message to say my vase was on its way , i waited with excitement and anticipation and then it arrived , a massive box with my head in along with a beautiful bunch of flowers ,
yes it looked like me yes i liked it yes i was very happy
now these are not cheap and i believe they retail to have made at around £1000 but if you want something not many people will have , something that is a great talking point with visitors , or something to give to your children that will last and be there for many years to come , then this is for you it is fantastic , The company who made this are http://www.abcimaginguk.com/ and i would definitely say talk to them if it is something you would be interested in , i have to admit it must be one of the best wins i have had for originality and talking point , it is something my children will have of me to show to their children and grandchildren in years to come , what better reminder of me could they have or want

im very happy with it what do you think ?

Made in Dagenham

Every year around christmas time me and my husband go for a night out for a nice meal and to the theatre
last night we went to the Adelphi theatre to see Made in Dagenham , we have seen the film , actually we was both extra's in the film along with my son , but that's another story !

Made in Dagenham is bursting with talent it is funny it is sad and it is just great fun,
The script and the songs are excellent you can not help but sit there tapping your feet swaying from side to side with a massive grin on your face its easy to say i loved it !
Screen star Gemma Arterton plays a powerful punchy Rita O’Grady a machine operator in the ford factory fighting for equal pay for women , and she shines on the stage her performance was flawless , the show hosts some great characters the  singing dancing pipe smoking Howard Wilson that makes you laugh out loud , Eddie, Rita's husband who is left to look after the kids and run the house but does not cope very well ,Labour bigwig Barbara Castle , and Beryl the all swearing pint drinking Essex girl who is simply hilarious
you really get the feel for their fight and even tho you know the outcome you are willing them on from the start , so if you're considering going to the theatre and unsure what to see i would thoroughly recommend it for a good night out, the ending was brilliant when they win their fight and everyone stands up and puts their hands up to vote for them leaves you jumping to your feet throwing your hand in the air and getting carried along on their triumph , well it did me anyway !

Poppy gets a haircut

Poppy has a beautiful coat of multi colour's she is very furry and fluffy
but  when she was younger she wasn't groomed as she should have been her
coat became matted and knotted
so we booked her into a doggy grooming parlour and took her along for her first haircut
What a lovely place it was with lovely well groomed happy dogs running around freely
we felt happy and confident to leave poppy in their care

So in goes a long Haired Poppy

I have to say the groomer himself was fantastic giving us so much advice on what to do and how to do it . so we could manage her coat ourselves from then on , but as poppy was so matted he said she had to be shaved as she was so young it would be hard work and it would distress her to much to try and get all the knots out ,

And out comes a short haired Poppy

One of the most valuable bits of advise i was given was to put Poppy up on  a table or sideboard put her out of her comfort zone , that way she will sit still and behave while we groom her , rather then having her on the floor running around after her , as we had been doing ! and it works i use my dressing table and soon as i pop her up there she is good as gold

Poppy sitting on my dressing table while i groom her

About time Poppy got a new bed don't you think ?

We brought this pretty pink fluffy dog bed for Poppy when she was a lot smaller
but as we are always buying her new toys or giving her ones that we find around the house
they seem to have taken over her bed leaving her with nowhere to sleep
and now i think its time she was treated to a new bed what do you think ?
